Lamb’s Ear (Stachys byzantina)

Lamb’s Ear is a low-growing, silvery perennial known for its soft, velvety leaves that resemble the texture of a lamb’s ear—making it a favorite in children’s gardens and sensory landscapes. Its dense, spreading habit makes it an excellent ground cover or edging plant, and it provides striking contrast in color and texture. In late spring to early summer, Lamb’s Ear sends up tall stalks of small, purple-pink flowers, though many gardeners grow it primarily for its foliage.
