Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides)

Dawn Redwood is a fast-growing, deciduous conifer once thought extinct and rediscovered in China in the 1940s. It has a pyramidal shape, feathery, fern-like foliage that turns coppery-bronze in fall, and reddish-brown bark that peels attractively. It’s a striking specimen tree for large landscapes and is tolerant of wet soils.
