Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium)

Little Bluestem is a native ornamental grass prized for its fine texture, upright habit, and multi-season beauty. In summer, it forms tidy clumps of blue-green foliage, which turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple in the fall. Delicate silvery seed heads appear in late summer and persist through winter, providing structure and food for birds. Extremely drought-tolerant and adaptable, Little Bluestem thrives in tough conditions, including poor, dry soils, making it ideal for low-maintenance landscapes and native plantings.
