Goldenrod (Solidago spp.)

Goldenrod is a hardy, late-season perennial known for its tall, upright stems topped with clusters of bright yellow flowers. Blooming from late summer into fall, it adds a brilliant splash of color when many other plants are fading. Despite its reputation, Goldenrod does not cause seasonal allergies (often confused with ragweed). It’s a magnet for pollinators—especially bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects—and is perfect for naturalistic plantings, meadows, and borders.  It is also an important late season nectar source for monarch butterflies before migration, as well as a food source for honeybees and native pollinators.
